For this experiment I changed the blend mode from lighten or darken to difference. I felt this might highlight the different environments. Below are comparisons of the same frame to show the dramatic change by switching blending modes

I have been wanting to experiment with ambisonic audio for some time now, the furtherest that I had got before now was recording a few sounscapes using the Sennheiser Ambeo VR Microphone.

It was fun to record with but I never got the chance to fully explore how to process the resulting files to make the most of the immersive sound, especially as I have been mixing for stereo audio. This poetic film was the chance I was waiting for.
With the help of this tutorial I took one of the multitrack projects that I have been working on in Audition and exported it as 4 mono files that I could recombine into a 4 channel ambisonic audio file.

Another tutorial later and I was able to work out the kinks in combining the ambisonic audio with the 360 video above. I wasn’t able to try it in a VR headset immediately but Youtube accepted the file as having ambisonic audio .

Spending the amount of time that I did working with the audio on this piece made me realise that I was no longer interested in this visual effect, it is visually interesting but doesn’t relate to how I wanted to approach the project.
